Preheat & Prepare: Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a 450g (1lb) loaf tin and line with baking parchment.
Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, sift together self-raising flour and cocoa powder.
Mix Wet Ingredients: Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
Combine Batter: Gradually fold in the dry ingredients and milk until a smooth batter forms.
Bake: Pour batter into the prepared loaf tin. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
